So we've had the damn ESP and traction warning lights on for awhile now.

The DAD wasn't giving us any codes so we switched to the Autel MaxiDiag Elite and it gave us:

51AF: CAN communication with the steering angle sensor is faulty.

So we replaced the steering angle sensor and now the code is:

51AF: B24/8 (Steering angle sensor) values are implausible.

When we go into live data it says the calibration has not been completed but we can't find a function to do that?

Hi there,

Did you make sure the new item went back in exactly the same place as the one removed?
You did not forget the obvious... (Sorry if you have done this) - Have you done the 'lock to lock' calibration with the engine running?

My experience is that the Autel will not allow you enter any calibration data to the SAS, you would need DRBII or possibly your DAD/ or dealer level tool to access this.

Sorry but not much help.
All the best
Steve

You may well have broken the angle sensor ribbon with incorrect install , MB can correctly initialize the sensor. I would also have the alignment checked too , steering off 15 degs will cause this code too.
