I have a 2011 Sprinter with just under 50,000 miles on it.
Brought the van in to have a check engine light checked.
Van runs perfectly just brought in because of light.
Glow plug #5 is bad, no big deal.
Also a code was discovered that indicated I need new intake manifolds!
Dealer said all is covered under warranty.
It amazes me that this would happen at only 50,000 miles.
Van will be out of service for about a week.
I love the van but I really am wondering about them now.
Almost all of the serious problems people have seem to be emissions related.
Not sure the diesel option in vehicles is worth it with all the problems emissions
regulations has brought on. I am sure this would be very expensive if not under warranty.
Dealer has been very good, not there fault. They (MB) really need to improve the reliability of
emissions related components. Only a few months ago the DEF tank heater was replaced as well.
My previous generation (T1N) had no such problems and I had it for more than 100,000 miles.
It was very reliable.
