Black Death confirmed. Best remedial practices?

I have discovered black death on #1 #2 and #3.

#4 flunked the leak-off test. The others were much better on leak-off

I'm thinking that I should have all 5 injectors rebuilt since I will have four of them out. Is there any downside other than expense? Am i wasting money?

You can get a set of NEW Bosch injectors for around $1000-1200 (ebay, others).
Might as well replace them all, keep #5 as a spare. Some places pay $75 for rebuildable cores.

Chisel and scrape out the majority of the gunk, once you start using a cleaner it will liquify the gunk and it will flow down and harden again, so you want to get most of the stuff out dry. Use paper towels as blotters to soak up the liquified mess. If you're having trouble freeing the injectors, I suspect that the brake cleaner will dissolve the Black Death in the injector well while wet, and you can then twist them a little side-to-side while prying or lifting upwards. (I used brake cleaner, it melted the rubber wire covers on the injectors, but it also dissolved the Black Death). I had very little trouble getting my Black Death injector out.
