I am becoming a dissatisfied owner of a 2011 Sprinter crew van. I bought the van new in May 2012. It is now nearing the end of the 3 year factory warranty period with only 13000 miles. I have done minimal upfitting.
In the last 2 years I have had to return to the dealership 3 times for warranty covered work.
1. Starter malfunction at 4000 miles (replaced)
2. Accelerator pedal malfunction at 8900 miles (replaced)
3. Accelerator pedal malfunction at 13000 miles (at the dealership now, to be replaced)
I am requiring warranty work about every 4000 miles!
Now, how reliable is this vehicle? Can I count on it for a 10000 mile cross country tour?
Should I extend the warranty? Does MB have any responsibility to help cover the warranty extension? Should I sell or trade in the van, and cut my losses?
