Use OEM or Mann until your warranty expires. IDPARTS.com has them for about $75

I personally wouldn't use an aftermarket/GENERIC until your warranty has expired, but since it has an expensive fuel heater element and water sensor included in the filter it hasn't been made by others yet.

...Back in the day (2007,8,9) those NVC3 sprinter fuel filters are less expensive, ... 30 +- $. Those filters, the water in fuel sensor is removable and reusable, ... but some techs/DIYs when they removed the water in filter sensor they would break the little white retainer clip.

Mb redesigned the fuel filter to include a water in fuel sensor as a part of the filter. The fuel filter price jumped to over 100$.

:my :2cents: conjecture.

heh! I bought a service plan when I bought my van. haven't had to worry about maintenance costs yet.

I'm not sure if the NCV3 is different, but I went 100K on my fuel filter. I never had any issues at all. I run mostly a bio mix by law up here in MN, so not sure if that helped or not, but I have never had any clogging issues or water in my fuel. One thing you need to keep in mind is that the service intervals account for possible fuel issues, but for the most part, diesel fuel quality is quite good here in the US if fueling up at major diesel outlets.
