View Full Version : question about koni shock installation

hey guys, im kind of new to this and i would prefer to install the koni shocks myself but i think i may ask a mechanic to do it for me, forgive me if my question is stupid but after reading the write up of the install by one of the members here, there are certain specs on how much to tighten certain bolts, where do i find this information, is it in the service manual? and if i let a mechanic do this work who possibly has never worked on a sprinter can i be certain the job will be done properly? i.e. will the mechanic know all the exact torque specs, sorry im just a little paranoid, ive had bad luck in the past and i just want things done properly

Look in this thread...

...it's straight out of the service manual.

There's no guarantee that the mechanic working on this, that has never worked on it before, is going to do it right the first time. However, installing shocks is not rocket science and if they're methodical, I can't see a reason why they couldn't do it. This will also depend on how busy they are and if they would have a junior mechanic take over.

It would definitely help if you supply them with the torque specs. It would even help if they have a look see on the write-up (http://sprinter-source.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2839) before tackling the job.
