Sprinters 4wd?

Three variants
Rear wheel drive, permanent all wheel drive, and the standard 4x4 manual and auto but I can't work out how the standard auto works, due to it's limitations on final rpm drive.
Richard
Except in the USA, we only get the rear wheel drive, despite rumors to the conrtrary since 2003.

Psst, wanna buy some spark plugs?

Do I want to buy spark plugs:smilewink:
Australia has the 4x4 units far and few in-between though Mercedes through it's preferred partnerships in Europe were to ramp up production sales for the 4x4 units .
Lets stop for a second and reflect on ramping up sales , We have all heard of La' France in the USA along with their woes, However they were a specialist company building a production line for emergency or boutique markets etc.
It ls as similar with the the body builders! who modify MB vehicles outside of Daimler AG standard production line, for vehicles such one of many body variations IE: Sprinter.. 4x4 are in extreme demand, and there are many variants to this model, most are built for specialized usage eg; Military..Govenemnet purpose built =SUPPLY AND DEMAND.
4x4 not that simple as to intended usage Standard 4x4 manual or semi automated transmission , is based on 4 cylinders variants and as to PTO options with rpm idle set.
AWD All Wheel Drive permanent drive, limited as to other option such as PTO in practice you can not have this option on high HP engines and standard automatic transmissions ,as to being basically too low Final axle drives, and the wrong match to transmission gears as to engine rpm's etc.
Fuel economy is not a factor with 4x4 units.
Sportsmobile may be in the running for a exclusive US variant different from Euro designs:idunno: as it would make economic sense to produce in the USA limited small scale production of custom 4x4 units so don't give up on this one and of course it needs a certification of approval and compliance with MB via GMhb for production in the states along Worth both EPA and Federal DOT approval for US approval to be publicly approved for use on a N/American road
IF and I say IF? it's a small wheel base unit with a V6 and standard automatic transmission it will be limited as to optional usages, therefore this may not be the Be's Knees you guys are hoping for.
Costings mentioned 12 grand US this could not possibly be offered from Europe at this price for direct import into the USA. To reduce the price, Sportsmobile using local labour could do it as to lower hourly rates ,As to where European wages are heavily unionized with full benefits Europe is not competitive now due to it's high Euro value and the demise of the Mighty US dollars worth.
We have one member who offers 4x4, these sent from South Africa you name the engine and combinations, However I asked Frank as to Export approval and warranty and as to meting US compliance, sorry no answer so buyer beware. In part the United states does not have a NAFTA agreement as such with S/A Farica due to it's own economic embargo's against this sector.
4x4 Sportsmobile is likely as to it fitting US NAFTA requirements for local content so I see credible possibility for a 4x4 in the States at what price! I have no ides as to warranty that's a tricky one My thought if it's sold via Sportsmobile, then that's the only place you could have it serviced under warranty unless! a deal is struck with Cerberus to sell as a separate franchisees via Both Dodge and Freightliner outlets another problem there with qualified personal, to service these units.
Note these are my personal thoughts as to 4x4 units being sold in the USA it's too new and there are many issues to be sorted out, as of yet. Financing may be, and is an issue in the US at the big moment, so this may create a further delay as to monies being available for setting up the sales etc and how many buyers there are for it to be viable, Sportsmobile do have Government contracts for export of Ford 4x4 units to Qatar.Sportsmobile are more than qualified to purchase the licensing rights, and for the production of the NCV3 4x4 units.
Lets see what happens in the next quarter:drool: as to this be realistic or another pipe dream:cry: .

4x4 OK I can not work out the pricing on the US variation
4x4 Au 120 thousand dollars.
Top of the line 29.000 Euro plus 20% VAT tax etc, plus delivery... Plus, base price of unit van:thinking: plus tax.. plus options.. plus, plus, plus. the list goes on and on to 200 thousand dollars AU. How does 12 grand US come into the equation of dealer figures, something just does not add up or I have it wrong, being and old goat I must be losing it.
OK Folks look at the figures and tell me where I am blinded to see. It has me beat?
