Help a newb out

So I'm about to drop my fuel tank to finish my Webasto Airtop Install. I am still undecided if I am going to T into the KL1 (feeding heat booster) Fuel tap right as it comes out of the tank, or if I should just drill a hole and add a separate fuel straw?
any thoughts?
