New 2006 Sprinter Owner... Help!

Greatdane

2006 Regular Roof 140"
I am the new 2 day owner of a 2006 passenger Sprinter (regular roof.) It has 75K miles on it and the mechanics say its in great condition... Now I have a few questions for you experienced owners?:

1) There is a reserve battery under the passenger seat... What does this power? I assume the 12V accessory plugs?

2) Two of the adjustable air flow vents (louvered) in the dash board (far left & right) are broken. Is this an easily replaceable part?

3) What are the most important maintenance things I can do to keep this baby running and reliable?

Thanks for your time...

Best advise I can give, as a new owner as well, pour through this site! If it has happened it has been posted, use the search and keep going, try multiple angles for answers, like "poor gas mileage" or "fuel problems". There is a wiki for new owners as well as service manuals. Welcome to the crazy world of Sprinters

That's the "auxiliary battery". It was a factory (or after-market) option.
If installed at the factory, there were *no* loads attached. It's purely for "whatever the owner wants to add later".

The individual louvers are not sold as parts. You have to buy items (11) and (17):

Relatively inexpensive parts source: http://www.sprinterparts.net/oem-sprinter-parts.html
..there is also a forum member selling parts

3) What are the most important maintenance things I can do to keep this baby running and reliable?
Quality oil: Mobil 1 0w-40

Download the service manual, owner's manual and parts catalog from http://aie-services-2.net/Sprinter/

good luck
