There was a Thread about putting a splitter on the OBD-II port so you can hook up your ScanGauge II and also a OBD-II ScanTool at the same time without having to unplug from the port because it is very hard to unplug. I saw one for sale some where but I could not find it. Is there any problems doing this and does anyone know where to get one?

Thanks

It may be easier to find an OBD II splitter than an OBD II connector with an RJ45 connector.

Take a look here: http://www.obd2cables.com/products/

And on this page: http://www.obd2cables.com/products/obd-cables/obd-ii-cables/cable-j1962m-to-2-j1962f-y-cable-1ft.html

Can you use both of them hooked up at the same time with the 145802 splitter? The OBD-II scan tool and the ScanGauge II.

I did a little internet searching for this topic and it seems that others have used a splitter with two devices and did not experience any issues.

Reading the scangauge manual, if it can't establishes a connection, it will time out and power down and enter sleep mode. It says to wake it up, push the home button and it will try to re-connect.

If you do a google search for obd splitters, you can find the same one for about half the price on amazon.

Any update on this old thread? Has anyone actually used one of these Y cable splitters to run a scangaugeII and a diagnostic type
tool simultaneously? I have a 2006 T1N.
