Just sharing what I figured out some time ago. Searched forums but found no relevant info, so here is my little contribution.
It's the sensitivity of the Rain Sensor. Change it using +/- buttons while driving in the rain, and you'll notice the difference in how much water accumulates on the windshield before wipers kick in. I think 1 is more sensitive than 3, my choice is RS-3.
