Fuel tank diagram/help

I have a 2005 2500 cargo sprinter. I recently blew my diesel all over the interstate due to the rubber hose failing where it met the nipple on the low pressure pump above the tank. While trying to fix this a broke another line that I'm not sure what it is. I've been looking for a diagram but can't find one. It's a small diameter rigid plastic line that runs on top of the fuel tank. It connects one side to the other and splits off to a line that terminates in a plastic green nipple thing that goes no where. This elbo is right near the fuel pump What's this line for ?

Could it be some kind of vent or breather hose?

Yes. I did read that It seems like a vent hose with a check valve at the end maybe. Anyone have a 05 service manual tank image ?

You can download the entire 2006 (and 2003) service manual from http://aie-services-2.net/Sprinter/
I suspect the 2006 will match the 2005.
