View Full Version : Way to measure tranny fluid ?

02-15-2013, 11:39 PM
Had to replace the radiator in my 2500. Punctured badly in a wreck.
I assume some tranny fluid was lost in the swap. Or did it all drain back to the pan :idunno:
I added one quart using the Wild Ass Guess measuring method.

What you think ?

PS I searched here for an hour or so but only found info on a complete change.

It is very important that you have the right amount in. The only way to do it correctly is to have a dipstick which you can order online or there are instructions posted here that give you the dimensions.

Here is what you need

Or try this link for lots of info.

You can make your own dipstick with a $2 metal snake, the required measurements are listed in the forums with a picture and the correct length.
