View Full Version : Way to measure tranny fluid ?

Had to replace the radiator in my 2500. Punctured badly in a wreck.
I assume some tranny fluid was lost in the swap. Or did it all drain back to the pan :idunno:
I added one quart using the Wild Ass Guess measuring method.

What you think ?

PS I searched here for an hour or so but only found info on a complete change.

It is very important that you have the right amount in. The only way to do it correctly is to have a dipstick which you can order online or there are instructions posted here that give you the dimensions.

You can make your own dipstick with a $2 metal snake, the required measurements are listed in the forums with a picture and the correct length.
