Hello, I own some mercedes sprinter 2006 313 & 413 CDI OM 611. Recently I have been looking for tips or advises to make a more efficient use of the vehicules, I have find many advises that represent significant savings in oil consumption, but some others really had make me wonder how good could could they be for the engine or the transmission.

I realize that skipping gears while making shifts, can be efficient. For example; going from 3rd to 5th, and it makes sense, because you would be avoiding to take the engine until the 2000rpm one time, I mean instead of accelerating to reach that amount of rpm in 4th gear, you will just shift to 5th and go on.

The thing is, how can this damage my transmission, I concernd about the synchronizer. Any experience on this? Any advise?
