I did a search and read all the threads. I have a dead aux battery. It is an OPTIMA 8050-160. Model D31T, CA1125 CCA900 AH75 RC155. I'm going to replace it. I would like to hear some comments on what others have used for their aux battery. Please include the battery part numbers. Thanks!!

You have a good battery there, deep cycle and also starting why not get another one?

My 2004 Leisure van RV came from the factory with a MB aux battery under the drivers seat. When I bought it in 2012 the original battery had been replaced with an optima, but was dead and would not take a charge. I replaced that battery with an optima which worked well. The absence of a battery vent was nice, but when I needed the optima for my race buggy. I fitted a Walmart size 49 (H9) to get more capacity and maybe match the MB /Leisure charger systems better.
I understand that an Optima dosen't tolerate being totally discharged, over the years and 6 different Motorhomes I often ran the coach battery completely DEAD! (slow learner). Baja

1) How is you aux. battery being used... load size? duration? Cycling/DOD?
2) What methods of charging would it have?
