View Full Version : retaining clip for abs module

I am trying to find out if there is a replacement clip-locking cover that goes over the wiring harness plug that goes into the abs module on my 2005 2500 158wb. It is the one that goes directly over the plug not the larger one that covers both of the smaller cover and the plug itself. It appears to have a lever that locks the plug into the module itself. Mine was damaged in the wreck and the outer cover we found but the inter one have not found. Any help would be greatly appreicated.

I have been looking in the service manual and From what I am reading the is the CAB harness connector release CAB-translates to Controler Antilock Brake there is a picture of it on 8W-91-15 On the controller antilock brake picture it shows the relase lever with what looks like it has a handle on the right side that goes to the center when it is released so My other Question is does it move the connector when you lock it down--might explain abs, brake pad wear, and ASR-BAS lights being on. Sorry for being a long post but would like to know if this releasr lever can be bought by itself or am I going to have to look for a harness.

Is it part of the wiring connector?
The only place you are going to get wiring connectors is a mercedes dealership (ideally one specialising in commercials, with a parts dept.) so best to give some a call and see what they say.
I have managed to buy a couple of obscure 2 or 3 wire connectors for sensors etc. from a dealer in the UK, never had to enquire about one that complex though. I may do at some point, there seems to be a boot missing from my main ECU connector (which in my 96 looks the same as my abs one but I expect there are subtle differences, and from looking at ABS and ECU modules on ebay I know the connectors for both vary over the years)
