Suburu upper engine cleaner is supposed to be the same stuff

I wasn't having issues, but I ran a few cans though my fuel system through w/o incident. I don't know if it helps, but it didn't cause any issues.

PS: it's not diesel, but I did run it through my lawn mower and it started easier with the same fuel, same oil and same spark plug. The only difference was adding a bit to the fuel.

I've also used it to clean carbon deposits from a bbq grill. It worked well.

Own a DAD ODB2 Unit.
I use Sea Foam to clean my EGR valve each spring (in the spray cans) - it cuts thru the carbon build-up. I add Stanadyne to the fuel system - in the warm months to raise lubricity and in the cold months to reduce gelling (2 different formulations).

Seafoam is another one of those things people love or hate.

But as per the MSDS it contains:

pale oil 40-60 %
naphtha 25-35%
alcohol 10-20 %

I not sure I want in my fuel tank or my crankcase on a Sprinter.
