Passenger Van - extra steps

Hello

I wanted to see how others are addressing this issue

I have a 2010 passenger van and will be picking up my elderly relatives in a month. They are in their late 70s and will have a hard time climbing into the van. I thought about buying a step ladder for them to get in and out. I am just afraid that they may fall and get hurt. One of them is having foot problems.

I wanted to see how others are addressing this.

My other thought would be to rent a large car to drive them around the few days they are in town. What are you thoughts???

I use a Rubbermaid step-stool... for Buster that is... stores neatly almost anywhere.

Hi, First I know nothing...
Anyway, one of my brothers had problem getting into their truck he used a stool with handle on it, like at some doctor's office to get on exam tables.

Due to all the room and such in Sprinter after getting in might be more comfortable than most cars.

I use a small stool for my folks to get in and out. Checked out a few I had lying around and found one that cut the first big step in exactly half. Store it under the passenger seat. Equally important is to make sure that there is a place for them to grab as they are getting in. That can really help alot in balance and getting up. As suggested, in many ways the van allows for a lot more area to move once you get up into it.

I carry a step like this for my 95 year old Mother-in-law to get into my 2004.




It works well when properly employed. I set it at an out angle from the van so the top loop is out of the way. Once on the van proper she makes her way to the seat. Good luck. vic
