Hi Guys,
Last night I was on a 300km run returning home from the county side when I tried to overtake a slower vehicle at around 80 kph on a flat road and I had a complete loss of power.
The check engine light came on together with the ASR light when I experience the power loss. I costed to the side of the highway and restarted the van. All lights cleared up and power was restored. However I was still 150km from home and the same thing happened again twice on my trip back home.
Luckily there was no oncoming traffic but what ever the fault is it not acceptable.
The first time the road was flat and the problem in-between gear depressing the pedal fully. The last two times the van was going up a hill and with just enough throttle to get over the hill. I pretty much cant get over a hill without this problem happening
The van is a 413 LWB cdi sprintshift and I was not carrying any weight.
Any ideas on what the problem is and how to fix it. Thanks in advance.
