Local Ambos are getting over the 25 mark MPG remember we have US gallons and I hate metric but the average is 8 10 11 in the three given driven situations of CBD URBAN and Hi-Way. same are manual others auto. We have 315 CDi and 515 Cdi only in Australia the other smaller 4-in-lines lower cc capacity pocket rockets are clocking over 30 miles to the gallon up to 35 MPG Not a 100% on this but close, the down side of the smaller engines is the automatic does not like a fast start, it shudders real bad, sort of like the US RSN thing , but this is only in drive, put it in a lower gear and no problem for quick starts, but the fuel Eco went out the window too. The small one two tonner in the Sprinter range are not being sold due to high volume Vito sales , and price competition between other makers such as Toyota and Fiat, Citroen etc.
