Electric radiator fan on new Sprinters

I had a 2007 2500 Dodge Sprinter, and it had an electric fan behind the grill that came on every once in a while. It came as far as I know as standard equipment. This 2011 does not have it. WTF. First the roof rails, now this. Was Dodge's better equipped than Freightliners?
I live in Florida and its hot. So far I have not seen any over heating light come on.
Any one out there have a 2011 with the fan? Was it an option? Do I need it?

The fans in front of the radiator on your '07 was part of the AC system. They came on when the condenser needed more airflow to cool better. I know this because I've looked at the wiring diagrams figuring out if I can hotwire it to run all the time in the summer here in Phoenix...not only for the AC but to benefit the radiator as well. They obviously changed something with that system on the '11's if the fans are not there anymore.
