Visited a Mercedes dealer last week in Denmark to see how they are with options and std equipment. Interestingly they come with diesel fired heater as std equipment on all models> There were no 4 wheel drive option but there were two types of electric slide doors avilable. One is full electric operation and the other is electric closing help for the last few inches to latch closed. For the 5 ton units there is a super single tire option available. Also available are cornering lights. Two different navigation systems can be had Sound 50 APS or COMMAND APS as well as electric opened rear window plus shut down of engine when stopped in traffic with automatic restart. The V6 diesel engine puts out 184 HP over there, engine model OM 642 DELA.

Anyone know what the difference is between euro version and US version of that engine?

You have the same engine it's the Dodge site that has all of the wrong information in it, or you have a standard Chrysler My 2002 year engine and not the latter OM 642 engine, with all of the upgrades that went with the new Generation Sprinters

well Dodge and Freightliner list the output as 159 hp and the euro version is 184 hp and it is the same basic 3 liter V6 diesel for 2007 and 2008. There must be a tuning difference in the US version but why would they do that?

Take the time to look at archives in the forum , and do the research.
Dodge has total flawed information:thumbdown: this repeats right through the US sector with media reports and specs,"illiterates that follow the leader" you have a Mercedes-Benz with some alterations done to the mechanics to suit the US environmental back-ward steps with emissions Euro 3! "But that is the only difference."
Look and research.... U.S.. DOT... and.... EPA lawshttp://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_12_31.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNfox000) and the truth will be revealed! that answers some of the issueshttp://sprinter-source.com/forum/images/icons/icon5.gif you referee to.http://sprinter-source.com/forum/images/icons/icon3.gif
Engine HP, rpms, final axle ratios ,weights all are from the four inline engine, even the gas engine is wrong on HP as well .
Take a walk on the wild side. and look at the engines in Europe and match the specs to the V6 it's there, because we have the lot down under it's a no brainer to work out.
the list of known faults if believed as Gospel:shifty: would mean that engine and transmission is not a Mercedes Proper engine.
Or you have a V6 with two cylinders blanked off full time,:wtf:
But then again you would not have a bunch of nutters complaining my gas is only getting 11 MPG , it would be more like 27 to 40 MPG/

Hi Jerry
Just having my little fun OK
I will run up a full thread for you on the gas engine, late next week I'm off on a trip to another side of the pond and a big experience with the Benz boys with an executive burn out, I get to thrash all the new Mercs ABS testing the lot my last fling:rad: before i retire.
Here's a little snippet of what's to come.

It's a legal requirement in some european countries.
