Wheel Bolt Torque of '04 T1N

I found the Torque Specifications in the service manual I have. It shows a table with two rows. One row says
Models: 690.6,901,902,903,904,905,WD2YD441,YD541 "140 +10" foot pounds,
and the second row says
Models: WD5.WD141,WD241,WD341,WD2.YD141,YD241,YD341 "177 +10" foot pounds
I am confused and can't interpret this table. Can someone please help? Where do I find the Model for my Sprinter (it is '04 Sprinter converted by Pleasure Way as an '05). What is the +10 in the foot pound number given in the table?

Hi aljimenez,
Does your Pleasureway RV have dual rear wheels?
If so, then it was built on a 3500 Cab/Chassis.
The 3500 with DRW (duals in the back) uses studs
coming out of the end of the axles and regular lug nuts with
tapered lock washers.
The 2500 series have lug bolts that screw into the end of the axle.
Do you have the factory supplied Operator's Manual that
came with your Dodge/Freightliner?
The correct wheel mounting torque specification will be listed
in the Operators Manual, and should diferentiate between 3500
and 2500 torque values for the OEM steel wheels.
If you have the aluminum spoked alloy wheels, the torque is
less also and should be specified in your Operators Manual.
Guess I should have kept the Operators Manual from my '06
when they totaled it..... darn!
I'm resonably sure that the 177 ft/lb +-10 ft/lb is for the 2500
with lug bolts.
I know my 2010 MB 3500 5 Tonner with DRW) specifies 144 ft/lbs.
for the OEM Steel wheels and the lug studs/nuts are the same
diameter/size as the 2002/2006 3500's.

Mine is not dual wheels in the back. Thus I guess it is 2500. I'll look at the manual that came with it, since I still have it. I did not expect such details as torque specifications in that mainly user's oriented manual. Do you know what the +10 is on that foot pound item? Al

I'm guessing you either missed the - in the listing or it was a misprint because it is more than likely 170 +/- 10. That is 170 foot pounds plus or minus 10 foot pounds to allow for slight variance in torque wrench calibration. If it is 170 +10" as you indicated on the first post it would indicate that MB is again being crazy with detail.

You won't find engine component torque specs in the operator manual, but you should find wheel fastener specs. Have fun. vic
