Radio always has power

I just bought a used 2005, 3500 158", and the Radio 30 (CD player version) has power to it even when the key is not in the ignition. I can turn the radio on and off without the key. Is this normal?

Yes.
Normally the radio will turn off when you turn off the engine, but it is still powered and available for keyless music

Yep. It's about the only thing I miss after changing out my OEM Sound 10. If you push the button with the key off the OEM Sound XX radio will turn on and produce crappy audio for a set time period. At the end of that time it will turn itself off. I don't miss the poor quality audio one bit, just the key off "timed on" feature. YMMV. Have fun. vic

In addition, when ON with key OFF, it has a one hour timer and will shut itself off.
