New filter for webasto

So my webasto installation has been acting up recently. It some times doesn't fire up right away, and a few weekends ago it quit in the middle of the night.

Dropped by baxters and bought some little VW diesel filter that had 1/8" ends on it. It was quite a bit bigger than the normal Bosch one.

After several retries at starting it up it finally took off. Any one have any comments on this .... like the fact I am not using the factory bosch one .....

I always changed the filters every fall. I found if I did not the heaters would act up...and that meant angry drivers to deal with. So we always had a campaign in the fall to replace them and ensure the heaters worked.

What did you find for a filter (p/n?)? The genuine Webasto (or Espar) filters are awful tiny...would be nice to have a larger one and have a lower pressure drop. Might make the dosing pump last longer too!
