Howdy Folks -

Are you as curious as I am as to just how many Sprinters there are out there from each of the North American model years?

I'm going to attach a poll to this thread that gives you a chance to let us know what year Sprinter you have.

Let's hear from all the owners out there!

Zach

P.S. I guess we'll have to start a new poll for 2007 and newer model years . . .

It's been very interesting to follow the results of this poll.

I am not surprised that there are more 2004 and newer Sprinters out there but I am surprised that nobody has chimed in from the pre-2004 side. Maybe this has more to do with who is finding Sprinter-Forum.com or with how excited new owners are about their vehicles?

Let us know what year your Sprinter is!

A running tally of US Sprinter sales is maintained on Yahoo SprinterVan. Here is the one reflecting August 2006 data. Freightliner does not provide monthly sales data. It has to be calculated once yearly figures are provided. Canadian monthly and annual sales data is not consistently provided by DC. If it is available, it is included.

My Sprinter is a 2003 model year. I just found this site, and am still an excited relative new owner of a Sprinter based RV albeit a used 2003 model.

So far, I like every thing about my Sprinter, including the Freightliner badge.:)

Howdy Folks -

I've updated the poll to include the following option: My Sprinter is pre-2001, post-2006, or it is a 2006 NCV3 (new body style) Sprinter.

If you can answer this poll with that new option then please also visit the following polls:

1. if your Sprinter is year 2000 or earlier - http://www.sprinter-source.com/forum/showthread.php?t=705

2. if your Sprinter is a 2006 NCV3 (new body style) Sprinter (likely only possible outside of the North American Market - http://www.sprinter-source.com/forum/showthread.php?t=706

3. if your Sprinter is a 2007 or newer NCV3 (new body style) Sprinter (North America or anywhere else) - http://www.sprinter-source.com/forum/showthread.php?t=706

Thanks for voting! It's been very interesting to see just what is out there.

Went for the 2006, not really keen on the new body style for 2007.

I agree!

There are some improvements to be made on virtually every introductory new model year automobile. It's a given!

the steering is a real improvement on the 2007's, a lot smoother, and easier. but after you drive the stiff steering for a while, you get used to it, and easy becomes to easy.

my dad has an '07, and i love his air ride seats too.

We need an updated poll for owners of multiple Sprinters. I have one 2005 2500 LWB HT, and two 2008 3500 LWB HTs... I'm also purchasing a "Super Sprinter" next week: a 2007 Freightliner 1000-cube step van with the MBE 900 engine/Allison automatic combo.

I have a 2002 Sprinter 3500 Hightop. When I checked the VIN I find that it is listed as a Dodge Truck but I thought all of the 2002's were Freightliner. Anyone got any ideas on this?

We have a 2008 hi top passenger van we have converted into a camper. We drove 2013 new models and I feel like the 2008 drives smoother! We love it. Bought it with 12,000 miles and have almost doubled the mileage in the first year.

Can't figure out how to make pix smaller to place on this page, but for anyone who Facebooks you can see photos at

Fallbrook Sprinter, you never reported back on your maiden voyage. Did everything go well or are you stranded somewhere in the country?

Question. I have an winnebago Era 2010 on Sprinter ..but some paperwork says 2008 or 2009 ( I forget)

When I inquired...I was told the model is 2010 when purchased but the engines come in sooner ...does this make sense?
Also when I readbinfo here about changes,,, that this and that changed in 2010 ..with fuel or converters etc..etc.so a different fluid is needed... can I assume that this is not pertinent for me, since the engine was made earlier?? It is a mercedes diesel but it has the Dodge insignia on it. We have to take it to Mercedes for oilsl, changes etc

I came to this site..to find out how to replace a sorung shade..or fix it and to find a source for a valance..on the sliding door. Impossible!! Thanks for insight

The engine and entire running gear is before 2010. What happens is that RV conversion companies buy Sprinters ahead so they have a stock of vehicles to convert. Sometimes sales or production schedules delay the stock of Sprinters being converted. With the economic dip in 2008 the delay was even longer than typical. I don't know if that affected your particular Sprinter RV.

You don't need to go to a dealership for basic maintenance. Any competent independent shop can change your oil and fluids. Just make certain that the proper MB spec fluids and filters for your vehicle are used.

You can get all the poop about what (and when) MB put into your Sprinter by entering your VIN to http://carinfo.kiev.ua/cars/vin/mercedes/vin_check
(the VIN is the number you can see through the windshield on the driver's side)
