Side Door Payload

I have a 2500 2007 sprinter, the short 144" WB with 75" interior height. I understand it has a 5770 lb payload. IF I put a skid in the side door - how heavy can it be ? I have looking passively for this info for awhile now, would be great to get an answer....thanks a lot

The only way to really know is weighing the vehicle and comparing the results with the ratings on the sticker on the door side of the driver seat base. It doesn't matter where the weight is as long as the axle ratings aren't exceeded, and the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating isn't exceeded. A good place to have the weight is at a point between evenly distributed between the front and rear axles and slightly ahead of the rear axle.
