Oh Man do I envy you. I'm stuck here in hot humid flat Illinois for the rest of the summer. Have a great time and enjoy the mountains and please take a big gulp of that mountain air for me please:laughing:

The second crew staged the van at Box Canyon while the first crew (with me) started from Slough Creek Trail head in Yellowstone National Park. When we finished the hike, I found a cryptic note that they noticed fuel was low - and best wishes on getting out. 25622

Indeed, the low fuel light was on from the moment I turned the key. 40 miles to the closest station. After 22 miles of 20 MPH on a rough dirt road, then 45 MPH on a good road to optimize mpg (and a 2000 foot drop in elevation), we arrived at a diesel OASIS in Big Timber
25621

5 (FIVE) diesel options (3 shown):
#1 15 ppm Highway
#1 15 ppm dyed
#2 15 ppm Highway
#2 15 ppm dyed
#2 500 ppm dyed

I put in 26.7 gallons.

And the temperature rose from 75 at Box Canyon to 101 at Big Timber
