Well, we didn't make it to Guntersville, AL like we had hoped yesterday. Everyone was dog tired from the 3.2 mile hike the day before that we just did things around the house and saw our local fireworks show. Since my husband had today off we figured we'd better find something to do, and probably closer to home, so we looked on our "places to go" list and decided on Providence Canyon (http://www.gastateparks.org/Providence). It was a beautiful day and the scenery was gorgeous.

We'll definitely make the trip to Guntersville a little later since we figured we could sleep in our home in Gadsden and then drive up early the next morning to enjoy the day there. We're not quite ready for full on overnight camping just yet, but I'm sure it'll be no time that we are!

Here are some pictures from today's little trip:

Great looking crew you have there. Looks like your putting the 10 passanger van to the test:thumbup:

Thanks and you're welcome. :smilewink:

It was pretty warm yesterday; high 80s, low 90s. We walked the canyons so it was a bit cooler than the ground temperature, but it was mighty humid. It wasn't unbearable though.

The trek 2 days before was a lot better as we were at a higher elevation and the air was very dry. Everyone still had a blast, however!
