1996 212D Side Lading Door Lock

Hi, my side opening door doesn't open very well from the outside, the key will open the central locking but the door itself will not optn, opens fine from the inside, any ideas?

One of my sets of contacts for the rear door central locking is missing, could this be related?

Is this an "opening the door" issue (mechanical) or is this an unlocking issue (electrical)?

I'm not certain to be honest, it just wont open from the outside. Is there a way to disconnect the central locking just from this door to see if its connected to that or a lock issue?

I would remove the interior panel and verify that the linkages are ok from the outside handle. More than likely it's a worn out exterior handle/linkage.

Cheers for the tips, took the panel off tonight, had a play around with the cable leading from the mechanism at the front to the rear of the sliding door, lubed it all good n proper and now it works simples
