I've succeeding in doing this with a Pioneer F10BT. An important point to note is that your head unit must support stalk adaptor functionalilty, otherwise it isn't possible.

In my 2010 NCV3 protocol for connectivity on the vehicle loom is ISO, although I have it on good authority FAKRA is also a possibility. Currently I haven't been able to establish what dictates which you might have, you'll just have to look and find out.

The adaptor I used also provides a VSS from the vehicle's CANbus for navigation purposes.

UK manufacturer's part reference: "CTSMC004" Stalk control, speed pulse, reverse signal, ignition module.

In addition to this adaptor I also needed to use a brand specific patch lead - in my case a "CTPIONEER" version.

I also used a fascia adaptor from the same manufacturer to convert the Sound5 single DIN layout to double DIN - "CTSPRINTER" fascia.

The end result enabled use of volume control and up/down arrows (station search) at the steering wheel.
