Default Carpet lining glue

Just bought my lining carpet and first tried a small part of the van. Used ordinary carpet glue sprayed onto both surfaces and seems to stick a treat. However, a passing chap today told me I definitely need 'trim fix' high temperature glue. Have looked this up and it costs as much as the lining carpet did. Do I definitely need it and if so, will the super strong carpet glue from a carpet dealer do or do I actually need trim fix? Can't see the van getting that hot as it's England and the van is white.

Greetings baldeagle...

Ordinary 'Contact Cement', spot spray or brush-on both surfaces, let dry 10-15 minutes then mate...this WILL do the trick!...that stuff is basically impervious to heat, cold, moisture, etc....use it always on my conversions

This is one common brand over on this side of the pond.

Any decent quality contact cement should hold up to the heat found in the back of your Sprinter. I've used the Weldwood stuff above to install smaller sized areas of membrane roof material with great results which I think is more severe service. Make certain you work in a well ventilated area. Hope this does some good. AP/vic
