Service Recommendations- SF Area - Sprinter-Forum

Hi all,

Long time lurker, first time poster.

Will be in San Francisco area with 2 days layover at the end of this week. Need a advice on good place to get a an oil change and transmission service.

Live in Jackson, Wyoming and service there has been a bit hit or miss.

I have used 4 star truck service in south san francisco in the past, as they service my former employer's sprinters, but they had a hard time finding 0w-40 synthetic at a reasonable price.

I know many will council 5w-40, but we do get -25 temps a couple times a year (5-10 days) and plenty more around 0*.

I can probably track the oil down somewhere here (fingers crossed), more concerned with good tranny service as I am at 65,000 miles.

Oh yeah, 2006 T1N 2500, used for fine art transportation and installation.

Try Golden Gate Freightliner 510-577-5500, a guy named Scott Cowan their Regional Director responded to me regarding my Sprinter and warrenty and maintenance work. I never used them before but would consider it, that he responded.

Let me know what service you use, thanks in advance.

Sorry for not updating sooner. Back in Jackson now.

Went to Collie's in San Rafael, excellent service.

Changed oil and transmission service, came to $350, fair in my opinion.

Very neat and clean independent Mercedes shop, with prompt and friendly service. Dropped van off at 9am and had it back by 1:30.

They noted several things that will be needing attention soon (brakes, serpentine belt) in writing as well as verbally.

Will use them again as I travel to the bay area about 4 time per year.
