Okay,
Here are the results of my injector quantity test: 1. 1.7 mm^3/Hub 2. .2 mm^3/ Hub 3. -.6 mm^3/Hub 4. -2.6 mm^3/Hub 5. 1.3 mm^3/Hub Although these units are goofy non of them are orders of magnitude off? I have a few injectors on the way, but if any of you guys have any hunches or more stuff to try let me know. here are my next ideas that I'm going to look more into. 1. When the engine is running get a temperature gun and see if I can find the " cool " cylinder. This may not work, but I'm gonna give it a try. 2. Ive heard if the egr is not working correctly misfire like symptoms can occur. I'm gonna check it out and try to clean it out at some point in the next week. 4. Musical injectors starting with 3 then 4. |

Well, I received a reman injector and tried swapping injectors until it quit misfiring. I swapped 1, 2, 3, but didn't get to 4 and 5 yet. One thing that is really bothering me right now is I cleared the codes after switching the first injector and it seemed to run like normal, so thinking it was fixed I took it on a six mile drive and after I fired the engine up again it started missing again??? Anyways, I'll get to the last two injectors within the week and I hope somehow it fixes it.
Also, when driving it while it was missing I saw a lot of black smoke coming out of the exhaust. As usual I'm open for suggestions on what else I should be doing. |
