Default Diesel Oil Drip

I have an '08 Winnebago View based on the '07 Sprinter chassis with the V6 diesel and 6,500 miles. I've noticed a slight amount of oil on the lower radiator hose on the driver's side (enough to cause an occasional drop on the driveway). The dealer checked for leaks, found nothing, and said this was normal and to bring it back if it gets worse. He said it may take a while for the hoses to seat, but this sounds like BS. I've looked but can't find the source of the problem. Any ideas on what may be causing this? TIA, Kevin

My 2007 Freightliner 2500 doesn't leak any fluid anywhere.

I think a second opinion is in order.

Tell him I've got a 1998 Ford E-250 with 128,438 miles that doesn't leak a drop. So oil leaks are Normal,?? What if it was leaking gas should you wait for those hoses to "seat" also? What a moron... Dave

Kevin,

I have examined the front of my engine compartment. The front area is tight. It doesn't surprise me that you couldn't find it without removing some visual obstructions.

If you're able to determine that it is, in fact motor oil, it could be coming from the oil filter housing. It bolts onto the front of the block, on the drivers side of the vehicle.

Can you post some pictures - taken from under the vehicle - looking up from the ground, at the point under the front end where the fluid lands?

Have a good look at the intercooler piping and connections. The air inside these passages is slightly oily and if there is a small leak the oil will seep out.
