I just completed installing a sound 20 in my 2011 Sprinter passenger van (replaced sound 5).
The ipod control I installed with it is great! The screen on the radio displays ALL of your ipod menus and functions. I still have normal cd control (6 disc). You can control the ipod from the radio or steering wheel controls as well. I just leave the ipod in the glove box because I do not need to touch it to use it (I routed the ipod interface wire there). The only thing I have to do now is go to the dealer to have them enable the the phone function for steering wheel control and instrument cluster display (van came with upgraded display package). |

Ok, just how good is the iPod interface?
I put in a Pioneer unit many years ago with an iPod interface and scrolling among a few hundred tracks was so slow that I had to make playlists to keep the scroll count down to 20 or 30. It would be nice to hear if anyone has made an interface that stroke-scrolled as quick as the iPod itself. |

To get to songs quickly I first select the artist, playlists, albums or personal
menu of the ipod (through the radio). There are thousands of songs on my ipod. They are all displayed on the screen. No need to touch or use actual ipod. |

I have been trying to find the info on part numbers for almost 18 months now--latest attempt from dealer claimed that it is impossible to add aux inputs to audio 20. Any part numbers sure would help. Thanks

I purchased the ipod control with a Sound 20 from Roccos Auto Tech in California.
You need to speak with Joe Eyerman, phone# 949-722-0707. He will be able to help you get what you need. It is not cheap but it does work very well. He prewired a harness for me that was a direct plug and play. You do not have to cut any wires in the van. They are very professional and can answer your questions. |

The answer might be in this thread: http://sprinter-source.com/forum/sho...=radio+removal
Or, this thread: http://sprinter-source.com/forum/sho...ighlight=sound Or, maybe Chris Case in the UK can find it for you: chris.case@midlandstruckvan.com Good luck, Wayne

Can anyone help? I just installed the MB Ipod controller. It shows that the Aux. Input is active but the Ipod does not play.
I wish that Chris could still ship to the US. Had to pay $190 to Freightliner for the interface. It is still a lot cheaper than I was quoted by MB. |

thlevy48,
"I wish that Chris could still ship to the US. Had to pay $190 to Freightliner for the interface. It is still a lot cheaper than I was quoted by MB" Can you post the MB part number for the interface cable you ordered for $190? Have you installed it yet? How did the install go for you? Thanks, Wayne

Assembly # B 6 7 82 4559
Actually, the price was reasonable. I paid about $150 for a similar kit for my wife's Toyota Rav4. Installation was quite simple. Remove the facia, remove the radio, unplug main cable and insert connector between radio and cable, route Ipod cable and connect. With the Rav 4, the installation is $100, for the Sprinter more. I would do them all day for $100, now that I know what I am doing, it would take about 20 min. |
