Possibly it was your fan spinning up. What was your FWT (Fahrenheit water temp)?

Water temp is normal, boost is in and out. Get a boost, then sluggish, then more boost etc... pretty goofy. Never heard this sound before, whistling. Just changed the EGR, and O2 sensor two months ago. 534,000 miles on it. Maybe she's just tierd?

I had the same sound a couple of times before I went into limp mode and then the check engine light went on.
My one of turbo hoses (not the resonator) had a leak.

Could it be your Espacher heater/furnace? Mine sounds like a jet engine.

Sounds like a cracked turbo hose somewhere.

My "jet engine" was a small incision-like crack in the top charged air hose; right out in plain sight but you couldn't see it unless you squeezed the hose and looked carefully.
I wrapped a few tie-wraps around it to keep it closed and the jet engine noise went away.
I replaced all of the turbo charged air hoses after that. If one's bad, all are suspect.
