I replaced the rear brakes in my 3500 this afternoon in 115 degree heat. The drivers side pad was down to 1/16". The sensor was well cut into! When I get some time, I will post some photos of the project. In the end, it took me 15 minutes each side to replace rotors and pads. Very easy to do and saved a quoted $933 from three dealers I went to. Steve at Europarts of San Diego shipped the rear brake kit for $279. Super fast shipping with OEM parts. Can't say enough about having awesome suppliers to provide us with needed items. I will tackle the oil change myself on the next go around. Gotta stop the bleeding in maintenance costs.

For once in a long time...not a damned thing !

Instead, I shuffled through some paperwork that has been building up, mowed the lawn and cleaned & organized the horrible mess in my garage from working on my van conversion. The sawdust was getting thick, and I could barely navigate around all of the lumber, scraps, tools and parts that had built up. Pretty much my house & yard have gone to hell since virtually all of my time & energy has been spent working on the van.

However, I must admit that I was forced to clean the garage instead of working on my kitchen galley... My garage door came off it's rollers , the repair man is coming tomorrow, and I had to make room for him to work on it.

Sadly, today I compared my conversion to NBB's. He has built one excellent RV! Puts mine to shame.

Ahhh. Well, I'm sure mine will look crappy compared to any professional conversion or a conversion done by people with a lot of skills, talent and $$. But, mine has personality!. I've put my heart and soul into working on it. Yes, she's got some boo, boos (screw holes in the paneling where there was no metal behind them, cabinetry not perfectly square or finished, etc.), but she still looks good to me. My design, things the way I want them within my budget and my hard work. I'm sure she will give me years of camping pleasure as will your van. That's what really matters. Remember, there will always be some kid (spoiled brat) on the block with better toys than yours and mine. Try to be happy with what you have.

Insulated the sliding door. Put rattle trap on bare metal. Added 1 1/2" of rigid foam to space above window and below window. Used contact cement to glue layer of Reflectix foil insulation onto rigid insulation. Reinstalled the stock grey hardboard panels.

I looked at my van today, and thought about washing it.
But its too clean to suds up again.
So I left it by the roadside to gather dust and whatever poops on it, for another day. Although I should but I'm too lazy to reinstall my second lot of spot mirrors on the outer mirrors.
It's tough down under, when your board stiff with yourself.

When you get the energy, maybe you could clean off your dash...it's looking a little cluttered. And, did you notice that the steering wheel is on the wrong side? Moving that over to the other side would give you something to do.
