Which model and size Thule chains do you have? I have the same size tires on my 08 2500.

I followed Kmessinger's lead on the chains.
Thule XB16 size 265 (note, for future thread readers, those are for 235/85-16 Not Stock Size) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ef=oss_product They install very easily. As long as they aren't put away all tangled up, it's less than 8 minutes to hop out and slap them on and I'm not really an expert at this, I'm from lower Alabama. Install is identical to these instructions http://tirechain.com/car_chaininstal...nstruction.htm On the other hand I have used those no brand chains from tirechain.com on a previous vehicle (a member here bought that truck and the chains with it) and I suspect their TUV Diamond and ONORM Diamond are identical to the Thule chains for $60+ less. The biggest difference is that the Thule hard plastic carry case is nicer and the case from Tirechains is fabric and ripped out after only a few uses. I really don't see a difference in quality, they really look same factory identical, like they are made by the same swaging tool on the cable and the same welder on the links if I were doing this over again, I'd go for the tirechains.com option again instead of the upgade, to a nicer case, with the Thule brand. I just purchased the Thule XB16's in the 265 size also, and was able to use them (as also fitment indicated) on our 315/35 20 low profile tires for our X5 (AWD), paid about $177 through Amazon, who had them in stock and delivered them fast.
They worked wonderfully last week, during one of the biggest snow storms in December in Mammoth, CA history. Easy to put on and remove, and seem well made. Much better than the standard cable chains I'd used many times in the past.

Thats record snow for Mammoth? Our 'local' mountain got 4 metres (about 14 feet) over a four day period last weekend. People had to dig tunnels to get out of their chalets, made our national news. Check out the webcams!

Actually I am hoping that some one runs into the back of mine (insured driver of course)
. After slamming into a light pole here at work while backing up. Its a nice dent right inside of the bumper that is rusting badly.
