no defrost

The past few times it's rained I noticed my window fogging up even though the vent was in the defrost position. Then I realized that the defrost vents were not opening and changing the vent selector did not change what came out where. Any ideas? Is this a common problem?

Go to post #20 - Heater Control Cable Fix

There may be other heat control repair threads if you search from the blue bar.

I have a condensed thread for both the Stoopid Things and Cheap Tricks to make it a bit easier to scroll down to see if there's help to be found in those threads for any future problems. Good luck. vic

You might check your cabin filter. I had no air flowing to my front window until I changed mine (this part is in the engine compartment). Its easy to forget about changing these.

The problem was the cable was not in the retainer near the rotating plastic mechanism that controls the defrost open/close functions. Now I won't have to towel off the window when it rains!
