Hi,
I have a 2002 308cdi with a clutch that slips slightly under load - i.e. hard acceleration in 4th or 5th on the flat or uphill. Should I get this fixed ASAP and how much would I be up for roughly? Also have grating issue when changing into 3rd gear, any ideas what may be causing this? |

Hi welcome clutch is a sign your up for some dollars on eBay it's cheaper than Benz, spring may be broken on the pressure plate or clutch plate,if hard to get into gear the latter is the problem, but it depends how far the clutch plate is worn, but you'd hear the rattle if anything has broken.
Linkages may need to be cleaned up,oil may be passed it's use by date and if the wrong oil has been placed in the transmission of late, then that can play on stiff gear changing but normally in first or second on a cold start, once the oil reaches viscosity all gears should move very freely with zero stiffness. I'm assuming you have a manual and not a sprintshift. PS how many k's have you on the clutch! they can go for over 400 hundred thousand kilometers, they are very robust, unless your overloading or riding the clutch around the traps. Cheers Richard PS; Sorry forgot if you have the time check Benz AUSTRALIA for price then get them to match this kit price.Single mass flywheel. Clutch pressure plate Hydraulic release bearing. total $ 556AU No GST plus freight.
