Default Espar d2 or d4

I bought a 170wb high top van I plan to convert and was wondering if a Espar D2 is adequate at 7500 BTU's or should i go for the D4 with 13000. Thanks

1) will you be insulating?
2) how much glass will you have?
3) how low will you go with the outside temperature?

We have the d2 and it has been fine down to 0 degrees F on my 02 158" diy. I did limit the cargo area windows to three and am very happy with the foamed walls. I would have continued to add more features like thermal window quilting, a cab cut-off thermal curtain and maybe winter floor inserts. But I stopped at foaming the walls and ceiling and that has been fine.

No big harm in going for the d4, especially if you're converting a 170" or like the many windows option.

An East Coaster like me did not discover the need for a high-altitude kit until I began western mountain vacations of late. The d2 ran for a burst last night but the 8400 elev at the campsite was too high without the kit. But we always carry a comfy down comforter and that did the trick until the NM sun came up.

It be best if you specified Fahrenheit or Celsius as there is a very significant difference here, and most readers are Yanks.

Also, when you say 'coped', can you say what inside temperatures you maintained or achieved at that specified exterior temp...
