Alcoa rep tells me wheels can be ordered double polish ( inside and outside ), stronger bead seating area , and other options .
MB OEM optional wheels are 6.5 " wide - may go with that if weight is not an issue .

Thanks to all that responded with information .
That may be standard for the SUSI

I think you are correct , but the Alcoa is 5.5 wide and the MB OEM is 6.5 wide .

Could be the Alcoa is narrower to fit the 3500 rear axle .

I want the 6.5 wheel if possible - may have to use OEM .

.
My MB OEMs are 5.5

So body may have ship one, and knows the weight.

Specifications Measurement
Size 16 x 5.50
Bolt Circle 8.071
Hub Bore Diameter 6.343
Bolt Hole Diameter 0.63
Max. Wheel Load1 2340
Wheel Weight 16
Outset2 4.94
Inset 4.55
Max. Inflation – cold 80
Valve Stem 54MS-00
.....I'm changing my guess to 29lbs. of weight saving per wheel.

OK thanks - that thread gives a few different GUESSES on weights but no one with an actual scale chimed in - however, the alloy wheels are claimed by the mfr to be 12 lbs lighter than equivalent steel. Don't forget that the alloy wheel studs weigh more so the actual difference will be measurably less than the mfr claims.

Myth busted. Definitely NOT a 35 lbs per wheel savings for your $$$

Hello all, have not been on for a while. I have a 2011 View 24j with mods. I will be getting the Alcoa wheels and accessory kits next week and putting Michelin LTX M/S2 tires to replace my General tires.

I have a few questions.

Question #1:
My tire dealer and I tried to find a tpms system that mounts in the valve hole for the Alcoa rims, but all the after market systems are too big for the holes. Anyone found a solution for this? I have two sets of the external type pressure sensors, I could use but prefer the other kind.

Question #2:
Is there a "for sale" place on this site as I will want to sell 4 mounted General tires on outside factory rims, and two unmounted tires. I also have the wheel simulators front and rear and the braided extensions for the rears. The tires and wheels and accessories have 8000 miles on them. the reason for the tire change is I have always been partial to Michelins, to me they ride better and are a better tire.

In advance thanks for your help. Jerry.

P.S. I like K-9 SPRINTER's hub eblem. I have sent him a pm about them. I have pictures of the dinette swap out and even have the dinette for sale it was never used.

Have you tried contacting Alcoa for their recommendations?

Just an FYI... I tried to get the Alcoa Wheels for a 2500 and was told by the dealer that Alcoa was not going to be making these wheels any more for the sprinter... so I wrote Alcoa and this is the reply I got back... Email dated Sept 13, 2012

i am pretty sure they never offered a set of wheels to fit the 2500. they are for the 3500 "dually" only.

Well what my original question was to the people that K-9 bought his from... and Terry was the one that told me Alcoa was stopping production and I just asked her if I could mount four of the front wheels for a 3500 on a 2500... so thats when I asked Alcoa and they said they don't make them anymore???? two different sources...
