Can't see content of Shoutbox partial threads?

How do I look at or reply to the threads that show up in the "Shout box" with a date of "Today"..... and the poster's name?
There's one in there now from drjoeb entitled "GPS".
Do I have to change some settings or something?
I can click on the poster's name, but I never can see what they wrote, and they seem to disappear after a little while.
I'm puzzled?

years), and I understand the time and effort you guys put in to keep it going and free of SPAM/junk!

Just click the blue bar shout box it should automatically transfer you to the thread you are interested in.

Rodger when the forum does data backup blimps kick in form the international side ,Gremlins usually lasts a about half an hour. then stabilizes.
I freely admit sometimes the links are dead, is it from me at my end or the servers on the U.S side I'm not sure.
Seek is the administrator and does the housework with keeping the forum up and running maybe he can help a little more .
Try and click the link your interested in and see if it works now.
Be aware some a shouts only, these have no link ups. others are the continuance of the days forums threads.

Rodger I just checked the GPS you refered to.Its a shout typed on to the shout section nothing else a dead link. and is not a toady's forum thread.

Here's another that's up right now from a know member of the forum:

[Today 01:13 PM] mackconsult: oak panel on the starboard side today :o)

So these are "attempts" at a post that really contain nothing?

I see lots of users posting in the shout box, usually search terms, but occasionally a full thread post is written in there!

I think the shout box entry field should be disabled, because it seems lots if users don't know what it is and are wasting their time entering stuff in there. And does anyone actually use it for shouting anyway? Be realistic this is a sprinter forum not an IT forum.

Also, while I'm here, shouldn't the sprinter box entries be newest at the top, like thread posts?

Shout Box??

When reading a thread (such as this one), look above the messages area, but below the blue search bar.
You'll (probably) either see a blue line with "Sprinter Box" in it, (and a double-chevron "down arrow" near the right end)
or the Shout Box. IF you see the bar, but not the box, click the double chevron... and it shall appear!

Now that i've discovered the double chevron, i'll make mine go away (although it is another handy way to see if a different thread has been updated)
