Default An overview of the M272 Engine

A variant of the M272 engine is found in the gasoline- (petrol) powered Sprinters in the US & Canada for Sprinter model years 2007 and 2008.

Most Sprinters - both in this market and of those years - were diesel powered.

I don't have numbers, but the reader should consider them pretty rare.

Attached is a PDF covering the M272 from 2004.

The contents are not Sprinter specific information. The purpose of the document is to introduce the reader to this engine.
Objectives
Students will be able to:
• identify differences between M112 and M272
• explain the camshaft adjusters operation
• identify major components of the M272
• explain function of the swirl flaps
• explain function of the temperature management system
