I'm planning on doing a conversion on Sprinter and have been researching on companies that can do the conversion in Vancouver, BC. From what i've seen on this site, it appears that GTRV is the only company that does conversion.
Does anyone else know any other companies in the lower mainland that can do a conversion? I know there's a couple of shops in Oregon (Van Specialties and Outsidevan), but i'd prefer to have it done locally. |

They are the only ones that I've heard of... but, to be sure... call the RV dealers in Langley and Abbotsford and pick their brains.

Thanks OrioN. I just spoke with a company out in Abbotsford called Get Away Manufacturing (found their ad on Craigslist), and they apparently do Sprinter conversions too. They are working on a couple of custom builds right now. I'm hoping to visit their factory over the next few weeks to see what their build quality is like.

I hear there is a guy in Richmond. I guy I work with had his Ford E 350 partially camperized by him and was very happy with the work. I have also discovered that another workmates's father had his new Sprinter Camperized there including installation of a top up roof. I will get more details.

Trivan in Ferndale WA, just over the border has been known to do Sprinter conversions. There is a thread on these forums,, do a search.

I've talked to GTRV and Get-away RV in the past.
GTRV wasn't really too interested in my project as they can only work on one or two vans at a time. The owner/manager would take days or weeks to respond back to my calls or emails. That just turned me off. Talking with Get Away RV was much better experience. He listened to my needs, and came up with a design that we are looking for. It basically came down to cost. To have a van fully upfitted to my needs (ie. shower/toilet, seating for 5, cabinetry, genset, electrical/plumbing etc), they both quoted anywhere from 80k to 90k. Van cost is not included. I ended up buying a slightly used Winnebago ERA for 80k. Its not the ideal layout that I was looking for as the ERA's have very little storage space but it'll work for now. |
