As said above saw a High Roof Twin Turbo 516 Sprinter, This Sprinter is about 48cm (1/2 yard in old money) longer than our 313CDI. Has single wheels at back not the tandem setup similar to the 413 and double Springs on the rear. A great vehicle and all the additional storage area, eg side steps/dash/roof.
I do not understand the need for a twin Turbo on the same size motor as the 313 ie a 2.19lt. Also not understand that this vehicle has the same Gross Vehicle Mass as our 313, ie 3550kg so in other words it cuts down on your cargo/Motor Home carry capacity (Why did'nt MB make it 4000Kg). Other than this its a great vehicle. Can tow 2000Kg against the 313's 1800Kg. Peter |

313/6 MWB standard 3500 kg variant GTWV =7 Metric Tonne
Can't do that here unless your holding a you know what All variants are based on length and height as to load capacity as to optioned front axle Loadings. MWB Low roof units have the highest load carrying capacity in the class range 7Tonne sprinters can be purchased here. 4 Series are not designated in Australia by Badge definition but are a down weighted variant 4.49 GVM / to 4.495GVM It's basically a con used by the automotive industry in Australia to A restrict you to a passenger class license, which is fair enough. But those 5 series sprinters are just that 5 Metric Tonne> and at 5 ton! [Old Tonnage]By God; your entitled to a full diesel rebate if you have a ABN Tax 38 c not the secondary GST.add GST =50+ reduction on your liter price. Just another tax raising venue . Example by the numbers in Australia 313 MWB 3500kg add one spring =300Kg =3.8 GVM Metric not Te old Ton =2000lb Re-enforce the front axle stabilizer bars etc,etc that unit can be registered to a 4.2 GVM same as a dual cab over chassis unit this is an example of how crazy it is down here. Tin Ambulance 3.8 GVM dual springs when on sold after Govt use. the are down weighted back to 3.5GVM on your sticker.as designated by the drivers front numbers. Mine was bought back to 3.500 after being decommissioned from commercial service. as it was a [SP vehicle]. It the commonwealth law as to ADR?NZ DOT safety standards. Richard

Hi Richard,
Mercedes never brought the T1N into Australia with the 3.88 gross vehicle weight, only the NCV3 Sprinter and that was only at the begining of 2008 In relation to Ambulances being down rated from 3.8 to 3.5 can you provide documentation to prove this? I am not aware of any Ambulances being down weighted, why would it make any difference to DOT in Australia? You are obviously passionate above the Sprinter but you confuse me (And I'm sure other people on the forum) with teh made up stuff. The Guru Tin Ambulance 3.8 GVM dual springs when on sold after Govt use. the are down weighted back to 3.5GVM on your sticker.as designated by the drivers front numbers. Mine was bought back to 3.500 after being decommissioned from commercial service. as it was a [SP vehicle]. It the commonwealth law as to ADR?NZ DOT safety standards. Richard[/QUOTE] |

Rang the owner up tonight, It was a 315
Still do not understand why 2 Turbos are needed on such a small engine. Peter |

Richard, provide a VIN of a TAS T1N Ambulance with the 3.88, I think you are getting confused with the 318 with XL8
