Just ordered a 2008 Sprinter 170 inch passenger van from my local FL dealer for delivery January 2008. Ordered most of the available options including seat suspension, remote control hot water heating, roof ac, aux battery, 220 amp alterator etc. And I was able to get very close to invoice

lucky you.

two questions. any options available on 2008 not
available on 2007.

and, any particular reason freightliner over dodge.

does not look like any new options are available for 2008 and further the backup camera option is no longer available. However a camera prep kit is available so I ordered that plus the park sense system as well

the local FL dealer would sell at 300 dollars over invoice so that was the best deal I could find

unimog,

another question if i may.

are 2008 prices(msrp) higher than 2007 and by what
amount(percentage).

thanks, gerry

Gerry, the prices are not yet available for 2008 and will not come out from MB for some time however dealers can order the van without pricing (go figure ). I ordered it based on dealer showing me his invoice price and then add 300 dollars. Below is the order info:

VB6L55 FL Sprinter 2500 Wagon 170
22B Customer Preferred Package
EXM 3.0 L V6 Diesel
DBZ five speed auto
PD3b Brilliant Silver
XA3 Rear Camera prep
XAG Parksense
RDK Antenna package
NXF Idle control
MWE Roof Rails
JAV Instrument Cluster
HBD Rear AC
CSQ Assist handles
CK7 Overhead Storage
AMS Mobility Group
AMJ Rear Heater Group III
AJB Security Group
AHT Trailer tow Group
ADE Cold Climate Group I
ACL Accessory Group
AAX Premium Sound Group

not to sound stupid: which i probably am,

does that mean invoice price(whatever it will be) plus 300.

does this mean your stuck if say invoice goes up 5000.00

just being devils advocate. i don't expect them to rise

anywhere near that much.

Quite a vehicle it will be indeed...why so big? Do you plan on making airport runs:smirk:

I'm glad you opted not to check off the box marked "gasoline engine"

Plan to sell the seats and make it into a family camper van. This year it seats 12 standard so there are 2 rows of seats seasting 3 and one seating 4. So if anyone needs seats I will sell them or may be Ebay.

i'm planning the same thing- but i'm going to make camper
parts removeable and keep seats. never know when you
might needed to move large group of people.

good to have flexibility

Yes I may keep them as well. we will see. Gerry, what plans to you have for the camper conversion?

i'm going to use a 144 van as a touring/camping vehicle
to travel the country. i plan to adapt things mostly
found at cabelas and home depot.

i plan on ordering the passenger compartment opening
skyroof and power opening rear windows
these are codes gw9 and jkg.

also auxiliary battery bc1.

also passenger front seat swivel ctj(have code but do not
see it on freightliner list as option.)

There are no power opening rear windows on the options list for 2008. I picked every available option and that was not one of them

The aux battery comes as part of the mobility package that also gives you the parametric module to reprogram the electrical system

thanks for info.

i still only have 2007 list. however they delete some things
even though they still list them

gerry

ps i think the auxilary battery can be ordered separately. i plan on using

a local converter for window changes if need be..
