dual fuel on both petrol and one bottle of NGT or GNG MWB Cargo van is 1200 KLm
N/America has just on 420 LNG outlets most for governmental of fleet operations/
Based on UK figures as to the extra costings incurred of buying a LNG unit It would take 150 thousand Kilometers to recoup your additional costing.
Based on N/American fuel prices it take 1/2 approx 75 thousand KLM 's to pay for the extra costings involved. or approximately 46 thousand miles.
This is a specific target for both fleet and RV operations that do the longer haul miles.
Tye 316 us not diesel it is petrol but does not require a Ron petroleum fuel to run the engine if using this concept the Mercedes 316 including 310 and 313 will have been designed to run on bio type fuel alternatives. 3 series 4 and 5 series sprinters are available.
This is your future to netting both emission free regulations and 35 Miles to the gallon.
These units are sold in Australia ,however insufficient refilling stations are available out side of the main cities of Vic S/A and Queensland. Extra tanks can be built-in for long range distances up to 2000KLM at additional cost.
4x4 NGT is available as well, This meets all the current Governments requests for both saving on Oil,standard fuels petroleum based, emission requests for 2016 and independence as to reliance on imported fuel stocks, thus the Mercedes Sprinter has all of the required requisites to break the never ending cycle of the American addition to oil.
The question is ! Why are they not available through dealerships? or could a gold plated salesman even know how to present the sale to a customer to win the client over to signing the paperwork as to SOLD.
Don't confuse NGT/CNG; as to LPG .No Ad-Blue is required.
4x4 come 4 cylinders with 6 speed manuals
Includes dual cab chassis trucks.

the "Sprinter Guy"
I just returned from a Sprinter Sales Meeting at the factory in Ladson South Carolina. Had a tour of the factory and met with the Daimler Sprinter folks who gave us some updates on what's happening in 2011. Of course we asked all of the questions that many of you have been asking, 4x4 model, power sliding door, smaller versions with smaller engines and here is the answer to it all. No. At least not for the forseeable future.

In fact the 2011 models will be vertually the same as our 2010's, except there will be a change in the AdBlue tank. It will be moved from where it is in 2010, approximatly under the sliding door opening, to a smaller tank under the hood. The only problem with this change will be shorter duration between adding AdBlue. Today's van will go about 10.000 miles before needing to add the AdBlue, and the smaller tank will need topping off somewhere around 5000-6000 miles.

Maybe you might want to get one of our 2010's while we have them.

I would love to know what the business rationale is for giving such short shrift to the large American market.

That is my exact point Punter

What 3500 and which weights?
A potential market reaching 330 million for N/America
I mean no Offense to members, obviously! But the sales are pathetically, a Global joke.

It's really no different with Sprinter as any of the European Auto manufactures, they have so many different models with multiple power train options, that never will make our shores. You can thank the US Federal Government regulations for that. What do you think it costs to federalize a different drivetrain in the same model. Way more than the potential profits in most cases. Don't forget, that is why they are in business, to make a profit.

The other problem, well we can thank Chrysler/Dodge for that. That set us back years by having Dodge involved. Mercedes will get it right. Not overnight, but if there is a market that can produce a strong enough interest, they will build them.

Good point.and to quote DCX in 1999 proir to the relae of the Sprinter.
We know whats best for the American public Auto Dual wheels and lots of toys to go with it. in came the additional cup holder.
I guess the CE0's at the top of the ivory towers, forgot the reality of real time life of asking a simple question! what the American folk would actually like?.
Answer they voted with their feet and went elsewhere.

And MB's strategy for 2001-2003 of using Freightliner is supposed to give us confidence in MB's marketing genius for NAFTA Sprinters?

Lets get the historical facts correct.
1998 It was Dodge DCX management that made the decision to place a Dodge badge on the Mercedes Sprinter came latter be johnny with the Freight-loner:smilewink: had the same aspect,as to loyalty brand recognition.

Fact:People would think that a tradesman come service operator! Was making too much money if the Sprinter was badged with the Mercedes-Benz.nameplate.
Nothing much has changed has it..Down on memory Lane.
