Warranty Transfer Issues

Thanks for the info. Sounds like the extended warranty is the Dodge
vehicle warranty on the engine and powertrain beyond the basic 3
yr/36,000 mile warranty.

If you bought the Westfalia new, then you should have automatically
received the full 7 yr drivetrain warranty (and longer diesel engine
warranty). Initially, on some Westfalias, the dealers did not send
the correct form to DaimlerChrysler and the new purchaser was treated
as a second owner (who had to pay a "transfer" fee to get the full
warranty; otherwise, would only get the basic 3 yr/36,000 mile
warranty). That can be easily fixed by going to the Airstream dealer
and getting the paperwork done (and verifying you have the full
warranty and are listed as the first owner by calling DaimlerChrysler
Customer service with VIN).

If you bought the Westfalia used, then to get the full drivetrain
warranty you would need to pay the transfer fee.
